Mrs Maisie Jamieson
At 21 I bought a one-way ticket to Bombay, and stayed for four and a half years, when married I returned to England.
My first child was born in England, my second in Uganda. I returned to England after two years and trained as a teacher. In 1980 I went to Jordan to teach in the International Community School and returned four and a half years later.
I was the Parliamentary Candidate for the Liberal Party in 1979 and 1992, chair of the Erith Town Forum and Chair of the Bexley Community Health Council.
I am on the forum representing Bexley Council for Racial Equality because I believe that all people who claim this country as home should have a say in decisions which affect their lives whatever their ethnicity.
