Cory Environmental has been awarded a new ten year refuse and recycling collection and street cleansing services contract by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.
The contract includes refuse and recycling collection services to the Borough's 47,000 households as well as cleansing and litter collection services. It will commence on 30 March 2009.
The refuse and recycling collection service will be enhanced by broadening the range of materials collected for recycling, initially with mixed cans and plastics, and with the potential to expand this further during the life of the contract.
The high quality street cleansing and litter collection services throughout the borough will support the town's position as a popular tourist and shopping destination.
Paul Redman, Director of Cory's Municipal Services business said: "I am delighted that Cory has won this prestigious contract, enabling us to develop a real working partnership with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, and to provide high quality services to residents and visitors for the next ten years."
Councillor Paul Barrington-King, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Street Scene said: "This is great news for the people of Tunbridge Wells. We are able to provide a doorstep recycling service for cans and plastics bottles for the first time without compromising any aspects of the service. We look forward to working with Cory on what I am sure will be a very successful partnership."
