Mucking Restoration Scheme

The Mucking landfill site in Thurrock ceased taking waste at the end of 2010.

The site is now being restored to a country park and nature conservation area.

January 2012 Update

The Planning Application submitted in April 2011 has been refused permission by Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation.

Cory is most disappointed with the decision as the site has to receive materials to achieve the restoration of it to a Country Park. Cory is therefore left with no alternative but to pursue an appeal of the decision but at the same time it would wish to explore with the Local Planning Authority whether there is any mutually acceptable alternative to achieving this objective.

April 2011 Planning Application
